Live far away and still want to help the cause? Here's another option: start up a book drive in your area! You can even try to drum up support and donations from neighbors, friends, and local schools. Take your new children's books to a charity in your area that helps kids -- Boys and Girls Clubs or tutoring centers are always good options. I know they'll be THRILLED to have your generous donations!
Just be sure to e-mail me the total number of books you collected and donated so I can add them to our Grand Total!
Thank you in advance for all your support and enthusiasm! Together, we can make a difference, give kids a brighter holiday, and help stomp out illiteracy!

This year, in the ancient Greek theme of a sound mind in a sound body, we are also linking up with my brother Greg's "S.O.S. Save our Soles" campaign and donating running shoes to underprivileged kids in Africa. E-mail Livestrong122289@aol.comfor more information.

THANKS FOR A VERY SUCCESSFUL
HOLIDAY BOOK DRIVE 2006!
"Write On!" recently held its sixth annual Holiday Book Drive to benefit underprivileged children! 1,290 *new* books were collected -- bringing the six-year Grand Total to 8,342 books!!! These were donated and distributed to five local charities as Christmas presents for disadvantaged kids: the Boys and Girls Clubs on Johnson Drive and Olive Street, Project Understanding, the Saticoy Library, and the Ventura Avenue Library.
Thank you so much to everyone who donated to my cause. I would like to extend a special thank you to the University of Southern California for donating books to be distributed to schools in inner-city Los Angeles. (By the way, Write On is now an official USC student organization!) I would also like to thank Poinsettia Elementary School, Cabrillo Middle School, and Ventura High School for their generous donations. Many thanks also to Barbara O'Grady for offering her Adventures for Kids bookstore as a book collection center, and Patricia Fry of Matilija Press for her kind personal donation of books. Finally, I would like to thank my brother Greg for his help while I am away at college -- it wouldn't be possible without his support!
Congratulations, everyone! Together, we truly made a difference!
